Creating a scrapbook does more than just keeping you preoccupied during your free time. It helps preserve family memories. It provides your guests with entertainment and interesting conversation piece. Plus it also keeps your creativity in tip-top shape.
Everybody else seems to be jumping in on the scrapbooking bandwagon these days. That’s why it pays to come up with truly unique scrapbook albums. There are ready-made ones you can purchase at arts and crafts stores, just waiting for you to place photos and keepsakes. So how do you make your creations unlike everybody else’s?
Even if you don’t buy anything at all, you may still come up with a special creation. And you are guaranteed too that it won’t look like someone else’s scrapbook. Making use of old folders and cardboard sheets as scrapbooking papers does not require you to spend money. Plus you can freely put your creativity and imagination to use in giving them a face-lift.
Instead of using just about any picture, pick only some that are truly one of a kind. For example, a snapshot of the entire family each wearing a giro ski helmet during a trip to a famous skiing destination. Or an underwater photograph of everybody surrounded with tropical fishes of every shape and color imaginable.
There are all sorts of embellishments which you can use to make every page really stunning. A quick trip to an arts and crafts store will give you much decorating needs. But there are items which can make for truly one-of-a-kind embellishments. Those which can’t be bought in any store by fellow scrapbookers like yourself.
Candy and gift wrappers can add a dash of colors. Greeting cards, postcards and ticket stubs will provide a wonderful trip down memory lane. Buttons, sequins, lace, and printed fabrics from old clothes sure can spice up pages. Even things collected from trips can be used, like shells and sand from a recent beach adventure.
For sure other people’s scrapbooks contain pages about Thanksgiving, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, New Year and others. To come up with a completely inventive album, why not focus on other special moments? You can highlight someone in the family finally getting something he or she wished for. Like your daughter receiving a pair of luxurious women’s brown boots. Or your son clutching his dream remote control car. Or how about you getting a nifty tattoo perhaps?
In making truly unique scrapbook albums, just put your imagination to work. But do know when to stop embellishing your pages. Sometimes when you get a little too crazy designing them, they end up in a mess. Just remember to keep everything simple and creatively done.
